Ruler: High Council/ Merchant Princes
Alliances: Has a peace agreement with every major power and considers itself neutral in any wars that are currently ongoing across the realms.
The Empire of Venitzia is unique in that although it is called an Empire, it has not had an Emperor on the throne for over 200 years. The last Emperor died without an heir and the country moved on without an Emperor, seeming to take no notice of his absence.
The country is instead ruled by the High Council, although if you ask anyone in the country, they will name the Merchant Princes as the true rulers of the land. The Merchant houses of Venitzia was founded by Imperial children that would never make it to the throne. When the Emperor died, they decided that a bloody civil war was against their business interests, and instead pay the High Council to pass laws and enact their will.
Venitzia started its life long ago as once belonging to Azhim. It is said that a terrible cataclysmic event happened at Orin’s Last Stand in Azhem, destroying the land and creating the rocky islands that form the country of Venitzia. The people of Venitzia quickly recovered and are now known as traders extraordinaire. The trade ships that bear their flag are one of the most common sights to see in any port across the realms.
Another unique feature is the creation of The Swordsmen’s Guild. This guild is responsible for creating and keeping a set of dueling rules and regulations and enforcing them across the land. This makes formal duels a legal dispute in Venitzia, and the popularity of these swordsmen are quickly spreading to other countries in the realm.
Venitzia has a peace agreement with every major power and considers itself neutral in any wars that are currently ongoing across the realms.
